Compared to Ethanol – Economics – Logistics

Cellulose ethanol has a must greater energy gain than corn ethanol (up to 7x). Because of this it is increasingly competitive, economically and logistically, with petroleum fuels. Hydrogen Fuels, on the other hand, and not in the same realm; Hydrogen Fuels contain less energy than is put in to create them. Because of this Hydrogen Fuels should not be considered a viable substitute for carbon fuels at this time; although there are a variety of applications that are currently economical and logistically viable.
Every application of a fuel can be analyzed; meaning what fuel is to be used? Why choose a particular fuel over another? Logistical requirements must be investigated? and the monetary cost of the fuel must be investigated? There are instances where the logistical superiority will overcome economic shortcomings. There are instances where environmental implications will overcome both logistical and economical issues. There are instances where money is the only issue, and since the bottom line is what counts for public traded companies, petroleum fuels tend to have the most economical of incentives.
